About The Station Creative Workspace
Transforming Wagga Wagga’s historic Ambulance Station into a bold new model for regional creativity.
The Station Creative Workspace is a game-changing cultural and economic initiative, transforming Wagga Wagga’s historic Ambulance Station into a thriving centre for creativity, connection and collaboration. Developed by Eastern Riverina Arts, The Station is home to a growing community of artists, entrepreneurs and creative businesses.
The Station gives artists, companies and creative entrepreneurs in the Riverina a launchpad to experiment, collaborate and showcase new work. Writers, designers, event producers and creatives can now access what they’ve long needed — infrastructure, visibility, networks and support — without needing to relocate to a major city.
Offering a workshop, gallery space, meeting room, digital studio, creative offices and affordable artist studios all on one site, The Station provides the infrastructure creatives need to build sustainable careers. More than just coworking, it’s a living, breathing hub that fosters innovation and strengthens the cultural economy of the Riverina.
Whether you're starting out or scaling up, The Station offers the tools, connections and space to make your creative practice thrive — right here in the Riverina.
What Makes The Station Unique
What sets The Station apart is its pioneering model — a clever pairing of an under-utilised building and an activation tenant in Eastern Riverina Arts, a leading local arts organisation. At The Station, ERA takes the lead as programmer, connector, facilitator and mentor, supporting the artists and creative businesses that call it home.
The Station brings together artist studios, creative entrepreneurs, gallery space and tenants like the Wagga Wagga Business Chamber, creating a unique meeting point for arts and enterprise. Spaces at The Station are also available for pop-ups, markets, workshops, rehearsals and events — inviting the wider community to take part in a vibrant and inclusive creative culture.
About Eastern Riverina Arts
Eastern Riverina Arts (ERA) is a small organisation providing big opportunities to artists and creative people in our region. Covering eight local government areas and servicing a population in excess of 110,000, ERA supports cultural and creative industries programs and projects, connects communities and enriches the regional experience.
ERA is one of 15 Regional Arts Development Organisations (RADOs) in New South Wales and works closely with Regional Arts NSW, local councils, government agencies and the philanthropic sector to expand opportunities for the region’s creative community.
The organisation receives core funding from the NSW Government through Create NSW and administers the Country Arts Support Program (CASP), an annual grants program supporting grassroots creative projects throughout the region.
For over 25 years, ERA has built a reputation as a leading regional arts development organisation — producing exhibitions, performance works and festivals, while delivering large-scale projects in areas including bushfire recovery, disability inclusion, Aboriginal Cultural Development, and creative business.
ERA also manages Creative Riverina, an online directory that connects audiences with local artists, makers and experiences.
