Exhibition Offerings
The Ambo Gallery provides five exhibition offerings that are designed to invest in artists, showcase local creativity and build lasting partnerships.
-
A Solo Show is a major step forward in your arts career and a valuable opportunity to showcase a significant new body of work.
It’s also a space to take risks, make mistakes, and refine ideas in a professional gallery context.
A solo exhibition at the Ambo Gallery offers artists a chance to develop skills in grant writing, marketing, exhibition planning, and contract management. Solo shows are open to individual artists who are interested in presenting new or previously unseen work.
Presenting a solo show requires a meaningful investment of an artists’ time and resources, including the creation, transport, installation, and de-installation of your work. Artists are also expected to invigilate the gallery space during weekend hours.

The Group Show is a perfect entry point for emerging and mid-career artists looking to grow their professional arts practice. Designed for artists who may not yet be ready for a solo show, this format offers the opportunity to present new work within a curated, collaborative exhibition context.
Group shows at the Ambo Gallery can take two forms:
ERA-curated shows, where artists are selected individually through an EOI process to respond to a theme, or
Artist-led group proposals, where a collective of artists applies together with a shared concept and a coordinated exhibition plan.
In both cases, Eastern Riverina Arts provides networking and collaboration opportunities, feedback sessions, promotional support and curatorial guidance throughout the development and exhibition process.

The Ambo Gallery is proud to support community and cultural groups across the Riverina by providing professional gallery space to showcase group exhibitions.
This opportunity is ideal for community-led exhibitions that aim to present a cohesive body of work, engage a broader public audience, and gain hands-on experience in exhibition planning and delivery. Community Shows are self-managed, offering groups a flexible way to exhibit their work while benefiting from the profile and professionalism of a gallery setting.
ERA offers Community Show access under a not-for-profit ethos. While modest venue hire fees may apply to cover basic costs, a limited number of no-cost Community Show placements are offered each year for eligible groups.
In these cases, while gallery access is provided without expense, all event-related costs remain the responsibility of the exhibiting group.
