Exhibition: 'The Resonant Mark' Painting with Parkinsons Group
Adrian Aylott, Soundscape IV, watercolour, 2023.
The Resonant Mark is a survey of artwork to emerge from the Creative Arts Program 'Painting with Parkinson’s,' founded in 1994 by Churchill Fellow Nancy Tingey.
The program provides a context of creative practice for those who have come to terms with the diagnosis of their Parkinson's condition. As well as providing an enhanced experience for those involved in the program.
In each case, the artworks attest to the significance of the program in a therapeutic context. The title The Resonant Mark is in part a reference to this synaesthetic experience.

Freeroam Theatre Incorporated is a not-for-profit theatre company working at the core of a vibrant arts sector in Wagga Wagga and the Riverina, on Wiradjuri land.
Join us for a drink after work and be inspired by a behind the scenes look at their upcoming production War of the Worlds.
Freeroam Theatre invites you to look up at the night sky… and maybe get a little closer to the edge of your seat. Presenting a bold, reimagined War of the Worlds — a fresh take on the legendary 1898 classic by H.G. Wells, adapted right here for our own backyard.
Freeroam Theatre is led by young, skilled artists with the belief that to see, experience and understand the creative arts is a fundamental right that should be available to everyone, and not limited by locality. This is why Freeroam have taken an inclusive and holistic approach to providing professional and educational opportunities to artists in regional areas, particularly within Wagga Wagga and the Riverina.
Work in Progress is a regular event in which artists and creatives are invited to show a piece of unfinished creative work (visual, performative, experimental and more), within a context of supportive critique and collaborative networking.

Supported by Eastern Riverina Arts, Hilary Geddes Quartet present the Redleaf Album Tour in Wagga Wagga.
Redleaf merges jazz, indie, and experimental influences in an emotionally resonant set driven by her stellar quartet. With pianist Matt Harris, double-bassist Max Alduca and drummer Alex Inman-Hislop, Geddes delivers bold, improvisation-rich music with heart and nuance.
Hilary Geddes is an award-winning composer and guitarist who grew up and went to school in Griffith, NSW. She is the 2021 Freedman Jazz Fellow and the 2019 Jann Rutherford Memorial Award recipient. In 2021, she released her AIR-award nominated debut album Parkside (ABC Jazz) with Hilary Geddes Quartet. The group have performed at Melbourne International Jazz Festival, as well as at Art Gallery of NSW's inaugural VOLUME festival. In 2024, she supported Marcus Miller (USA) at his sold-out City Recital Hall concert. Outside of jazz and improvised music, Hilary is a member and lead guitarist in the rock band The Buoys.

Exhibition: 'In Our Backyard' Hearing Voices Peer Group
Tabin Brooks, Synaptic Sunburst, 2025, watercolour on paper.
The HVG, is a peer lead self help group that provides a safe and supportive place for people with lived experience of hearing voices, visions, and other unusual sensory perceptions.
If you hear voices, you are not alone. Studies show that around one in ten people will hear voices at some point in their lives. Hearing voices is a very personal experience and is different for everyone, in terms of what the voices say and the life events that provoke them.
Starting in May 2025, the fortnightly group has been meeting at Unique State, and engaging in participant lead artworks that seek to explore and share each individuals experiences with the wider public.
The outcome of this program, is to develop a poster to promote the group, and provide insight for other members of the community who seek to participate in the group or learn more about hearing voices.
The process of creating visual responses has lead to dynamic conversations and insights between peers and will cumulate in a booklet that shares these words and images. We would like the opportunity to showcase these works in a community space, providing greater understanding, awareness and support for people with mental health concerns.
The group is facilitated by Murrumbidgee Local Health District, Mental Health Drug and Alcohol service, with the support of Wellways Australia and Melissa Roberts Foundation.
The exhibition runs May 15-June 6.

Work In Progress with Tania Le Petit, Rachelle Mascini, and Donna Longobardi
Ceramic artwork by Rachelle Mascini.
“These ceramic people are still figuring themselves out. Face, hair, hats - and a series that could go absolutely anywhere.”
Join us for a drink after work for our second Work in Progress Night for 2026! We will hear from contemporary jewellery artist Tania Le Petit, ceramicist Rachelle Mascini, and multidisciplinary maker Donna Longobardi.
From her early days studying Jewellery Design at Charles Sturt University to mastering the iridescent magic of anodised titanium, Tania Le Petit has pushed this lightweight industrial metal to its limits. Using hydraulic pressing, saw piercing and electric currents, she creates luminous colour, drawing inspiration from native Australian flowers and the transformative butterfly life cycle.
Based in Wagga Wagga, Rachelle Mascini studied Visual Arts (Ceramics) at the University of Newcastle and has exhibited across Australia and internationally, with work held in collections in the UK and the Netherlands. Currently, she is developing a new body of work, combining ceramics and oil painting inspired by the Murrumbidgee River.
Experimenting with the possibilities offered through photography, painting, print media and fibre art, Donna Longobardi draws inspiration from life in the Gilmore Valley, in the foothills of the Snowy Mountains. The shifting light, seasonal colours and rich textures of the land form the heart of her practice.
Work in Progress is a regular event in which artists and creatives are invited to show a piece of unfinished creative work (visual, performative, experimental and more), within a context of supportive critique and collaborative networking.
EXHIBITION: Echoes in the Bush Karen Walsh & Jennifer Forster
Exhibition: Echoes in the Bush
An extraordinary visual documentation of the black summer bushfires, over a six year period, by artists Karen Walsh and Jennifer Forster.
Artworks in this exhibition are a response to the raw immediacy, stillness, and complexity of the Australian bush that was deeply scared during the bush fire of 2020 in the Snowy Mountains area of Talbingo. By visiting this area every year since those devastating fires, artists Jennie and Karen have created works in situ, using the landscape not just as subject, but as collaborator, immersing in its rhythms, materials, and quiet authority.
The works in this exhibition are shaped by weather, time, and terrain: submerged paper in the creeks, charcoal from fire-blackened trees, and found objects that are used as drawing tools. The artists have been inspired to record through sketchbooks, multimedia drawings and paintings while being present in the bush, observing, listening, and making art in the moment.
This practice is as much about reverence, resilience and connection to the land and its recovery as it is about mark-making. From the reverent and haunting silence of their first trip into the fire affected area to the sounds of the recovering landscape with birdsong, wind in the trees and the hum of the bees, Jennie and Karen continue to document the area and honour the bush not just as a backdrop, but as a living system: unpredictable, powerful, and deeply textured.
Echoes in the Bush invites viewers to slow down and listen — not just to the artwork, but to the landscape behind it. It’s a journey into the heart of place, where creation and country speak in quiet harmony.

Matter + Mind: A meditation on materials, balance & being
In this exhibition, artist Bec Cutler traces the quiet conversation between material and maker, being and becoming. Working with textiles, wood, paper and other materials, the artworks move between two and three dimensions, exploring form, balance, and transformation. At their core lies an awareness of life’s cycles—growth, decay, and return—where natural matter carries both memory and impermanence. Each piece invites reflection on how materials hold us in the present, while also reminding us of nature’s enduring rhythms. Matter + Mind is both an act of making and a meditation on how we live, create, and return to the earth.
